"Nick's Country Show"   Rich Helton is well known in Missouri for his country and gospel music entertainment. He performs with two different groups from around his area. He also visits and performs at small town opry’s in Missouri and Illinois using house bands. He is the real deal when it comes to singing traditional country songs that date back to Hank, Lefty, Waylon, Willy, Cash and on. “ONE COLD KISS GOODBYE” Is Rich’s first Nashville recording session that was completed at Marrs Recording Studio and produced by Larry Marrs. This is a new song with the great sound of old time country. Rich is also a song writer and wrote “THIS MORNING AT NINE”, a recent release through Nite*Sky recorded by Gary and Carol Bibb.  ONE COLD KISS GOODBYE was written by Nick Nixon. Nick has been a friend of Rich’s for many years. As mentioned on Gary and Carol Bibb’s write up, Nick is a great songwriter with many credits on his side including ‘THE TEDDY BEAR SONG” recorded by Barbara Fairchild. The first time that Rich heard Nick sing “ONE COLD KISS GOODBYE” he knew that he wanted to record the song. Being the good friend that he is, Nick gave Rich the OK. With BMI papers signed for Rich as the artist he headed to Nashville and met up with Gary and Carol and then headed for Marrs Recording Studio. He asked Gary and Carol to sing the backup harmonies on the song. This is the first but not last song release you will hear from Rich Helton, the real deal.

News article from the 1970's in St. Louis Missouri: With several chart records to his credit, the Mercury recording artist is “the” top name in country music in St. Louis, and must be one of Nashville’s brightest up and coming stars. With such songs as “She’s Just an Old Love Turned Memory,” “It’s Only a Bar Room,” “Rockin’ in Rosalee’s Boat,” and many others, Nick’s latest single, “Love Songs and Romance Magazines,” is busting the charts wide open. This action has brought about the release of his first album for Mercury, simply titled, “Nick Nixon.”

Nick has also written several hit songs including, “The Teddy Bear Song,” the first million-seller for yet another St. Louis native, Barbara Fairchild. He has performed all over the United States at top fairs, entertainment parks, rodeos, concerts and nightclubs, and has a string of fans everywhere. Nick’s voice has been described as a cross between Charlie Pride, David Wills, and a little Moe Bandy on the side. His country gentle approach to his music and fans attribute to his popularity and constant demand for performances…including the many charitable causes that he always finds time for.
