BIOGRAPHY
Country music has always exerted a powerful influence on the life of Lynn Davis, beginning as a child in Cedar Bluff, Mississippi, where he heard his mother play the fiddle and her brothers play guitars. He formed the solid foundation of his current singing style while traveling with them around the country and being exposed to various forms of music.
Lynn’s singing style is that of the old school of country music, with his own innovations that set him apart from other performing and recording artists. His unique style included songs with his own versions of 50’s country, jazzy Flatt and Scruggs, with Hank Thompson and Bob Wills western swing added to his extensive repertoire of many long-time favorites.
During the mid-90’s, Lynn and his wife, Shirley, sold their home, car, and everything they owned to pursue his dreams in Nashville. There he met his lifetime idol, Roy Acuff, who encouraged him to keep working hard to achieve his ambitions. He followed Acuff’s advice and his first Music City tracks went down at the prestigious RCA studio.
Over the decades, Lynn has hobnobbed and honed his musical skills with some of the best-known names in Nashville yore, including entertainment professional Charlie Lamb, who made his mark under the aegis of Colonel Tom Parker, who managed Elvis Presley.
During the summer of 2008, he enjoyed meeting and performing on stage in Nashville with Frizzell and Friends. This group of country music luminaries includes David Frizzell, younger brother of country music icon Lefty Frizzell, David’s younger brother, Allen, T. Graham Brown, Helen Cornelius, Lacy J. Dalton, Kevin Denny, Jimmy Fortune, Crystal Gayle, Merle Haggard, Johnny Lee, Johnny Rodriguez, Jeannie Seely, Joe Stampley, Gene Watson, and Tommy Cash, younger brother of Johnny Cash. Lynn performed at the prestigious Country Music Messe Music Festival in Berlin Germany in March of 2010.
His determination to succeed in country music has never ebbed or faded. His quest for success took a quantum leap upward with the release of his trilogy of WILD TURKEY & 7-UP CDs on the internationaly known and highly respected BSW Records label during 2007 and 2008. Lynn’s prospects are bright for continued success now and in later years on the horizon.
