BACKSTORY
RAIN * is about loss. Loss of a home, a job, a family. Over the years I have had jobs that I was laid-off or let go. Supporting a family or just paying your bills, well sometimes there is just not enough to go around. You can loose it all. I lived that experience in my life, that is what this song is all about.
LYRICS
THE CROPS ARE ALL DEAD
AND THE WEATHERMAN SAID
NO RAIN IS COMING OUR WAY
THE WOLF'S AT THE DOOR
THE BANKER HE NEEDS MORE
YOU’RE FREE TO LIVE BUT YOU CAN’T STAY
THEN CAME THE RAIN, POURING DOWN
NOT A WORD NOT A SOUND
THEN CAME THE RAIN, TUMBLING DOWN
FEELING LOST ALL THE WAY DOWN
WHEN THE RAIN CAME TUMBLING DOWN
WHEN THE RAIN CAME TUMBLING DOWN
WHEN THE RAIN CAME TUMBLING DOWN
WHEN THE RAIN CAME TUMBLING DOWN
INSTRUMENTAL
THEY TOOK MY FARM AND SOLD EVERYTHING
TRACTOR, TRUCK, AND MY OLD WEDDING RING
SO I WORK IN A FACTORY, ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF TOWN
THE BOSS CAME IN TODAY, AND SHUT 'ER DOWN
THEN CAME THE RAIN, POURING (TUMBLING) DOWN
NOT A WORD NOT A SOUND
THEN CAME THE RAIN, TUMBLING DOWN
FEELING LOST, ALL THE WAY DOWN
WHEN THE RAIN CAME TUMBLING DOWN
WHEN THE RAIN CAME TUMBLING DOWN
WHEN THE RAIN CAME TUMBLING DOWN
WHEN THE RAIN CAME TUMBLING DOWN
